You are caring :)
By sharing your extra bounty, you show how much you care for your "neighbors". Give anonymously, for God says what we do in secret, He will reward openly in Heaven. And share your anonymous experiences with us, too (email at the bottom of the page).

How can you help?
Contact the local Seniors Center...do they have the ability to pass along your extra bounty? You can drop off at the center and your gift will be given anonymously. Also: Ask a local Home Health Agency business or Assisted Living Center. Explain that you do not need the family/person's names, you'd just like permission to drop off gifts there, to be distributed.
Is there a homeless mission, or Single Mom's ministry in your area? Ask if you can drop off your bounty there, to be distributed anonymously. Your local chamber of commerce (in the front of the phone book) would know.
Ask your Rabbi or Pastor.....can you anonymously leave boxes of bounty with them, to be distributed to those in need? Or ask the local ministerial alliance group (also found through the chamber of commerce). Again, you don't need names of the recipients. God knows who needs it!
Do you drive past a house that "tugs" at your heart? You can drop off a box of bounty on the porch, with a card of encouragement...signed anonymously as a Brother or Sister who cares. This is GREAT fun year 'round (people are hungry 365 days), but it's especially joyful on GivingThanks Day & CHRISTmas. (Making a fresh wreath for the door is a really happy feeling, too.)
Other ways to help?
HINTS:
Offer to pick the family up to go to worship. It saves on gas, provides fellowship, and helps integrate them into a church family.

Other ways to help?
- Include essentials, like toilet paper, shampoo, toothpaste, dish or laundry detergent, diapers, or paper towels.
- A sack of clean/used children's clothes, toys, or school supplies. Sacks of feed & maybe prepay a vet checkup for pets.
- A Gas Card, grocery or retail card(s). Remember gift cards for haircuts-- a treat that some cannot afford.**
- Did you know you can actually pay anonymously on someone's water, sewer or electric bill? Call the utility & ask.
- Give cards of encouragement, or fresh cut flowers; Lightly used magazines, or craft kits; Encouraging music. A Bible.
HINTS:
- Chronic illness patients (like cancer or Parkinson's victims) often cannot afford things because of monthly Rx bills.
- Stroke victims & heart patients can no longer do the labor necessary for a home or yard upkeep. Can you help?
- Single Moms (or Dads) can always use the extra help. Utilities, car repairs, laundry help, clothing and haircuts.
- Senior Citizens gave us the best of their years! Now, they first pay for medicines, before buying food or toiletries.
- Help can be in the form of prayers too. You might be the only person who has prayed for them. Mail a prayer too.
- See tall grass? Sometimes health is too frail, or paying a service too high, or the lawnmower is broken....JUST DO IT.
- Gift box by USPS, anonymous, with encouraging words, uplifting music & cash or a gift card for gas/staples.
- Form a work-party & apply fresh paint, repair fencing or plant flower/veggie beds in containers; rake & trim.

Psalm 12:5-6 New Living Translation (NLT)
5 The Lord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.” 6 The Lord’s promises are pure, like silver refined in a furnace, purified seven times over. |
If you bless someone quietly, (without too many sentences spoken or written), the recipient's feelings won't be hurt. Nor will they feel shame. They'll feel loved. And the BIG feelings will be relief, thankfulness and joy by knowing someone really does care.
There are MANY "neighbors" who put on a bold face, yet we don't see how empty their freezer or gas-tank might really be. EVERYONE needs encouragement in this world. JUST BLESS THEM. <>< Be sure to thank the people you've just given to (sincerely). For this small thing they allowed you to do for them, has now blessed you. Thank them for your blessing. |
Stories Shared:
"When I was a pregnant single mother, with a high risk pregnancy, I couldn't work. One day, a jewelry box came in the mail. Inside it, was a $100 bill. Another day, I came home to find 3 full sacks of baby clothes on my porch with just a note that read : "These are cherished clothes from a special boy". And still another day, there was a rocking chair and a stroller left at the edge of my driveway. All of these, I knew were gifts from God. To this day, I don't know teir names! But I thank God!"
